We reached out to LiL support and asked this question and this was their response
1. Is it required to turn on completion tracking in Moodle in order to see course progress in the gradebook? Turning on the completion tracking setting in Moodle triggers a set of prompts for using anything in Moodle with makes using Moodle more difficult for anyone whether or not they are leveraging LiL or not. Is the current expected behavior to see 0% or 100% completion vs a progress score of actual time/percentage progress?
We as LinkedIn Learning send (course progress), (course completion), and (video completion) in our statements to the LMS and it is then up to the LMS to populate this within the gradebook.
We have recently found that Moodle is not accepting any of these completion or progress statements. If you are interested in leveraging this feature we would encourage you to raise this scenario within the Moodle discussion board as they are actively investigating these requests.
