i'm new to LTI and am yet to configure LTI functionality in my external tool, which I assume will be a time consuming process on my part. Before I start, I wanted to figure out if the following scenario is possible.
I am trying to achieve personalised gamification in moodle and for that, I've created an adaptation engine as a web app written in python and flask, which I'd connect as an external tool to a course in moodle. I know for a fact that I can configure my external tool as such, so that username will be forwarded from moodle to my engine and at the end a result will be returned in the form of "you are X". My adaptation engine currently expects manual inputs from a student. The inputs are, for example, position on leaderboard, how manx XPs, no. of badges earned, current level, etc. Goal is that this manual input can be converted into something automatic, such that, when a student goes to the external tool and clicks on start, the required information is automatically forwarded to the engine. Is this possible with LTI? I'd appreciate it, if somebody can help me out.
