Passing fields like username and idnumber and course idnumber?

So what's the likelihood that the External Tool(LTI) will be expanded to also pass the user's username and idnumber and pass the course idnumber (often used for enterprise enrollment)?

I'm looking at an LTI tool coming from one of our application providers and they've integrated with Blackboard and Canvas but are getting stuck with moodle since the moodle LTI implementation doesn't pass username - the course idnumber would make the tool even more functional.

Would creating a tracker item help move this forward?
